Here are some of the common questions we hear about dental implants -- for those who want to smile without a second thought.
What can dental implants do for me?
Implants are a great way to replace one or more missing teeth or to give added stability to dentures or bridges. Technology has continually improved the materials and techniques used in dental implant therapy. Today, patient satisfaction with implants is at an all-time high. We talk to patients all the time who say their implants function and feel like their natural teeth. They appreciate the ability to eat what they want again and to smile with confidence.
Our dental implants will look and act just like natural teeth.
Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
That depends on many factors, including your age, the amount of bone in your jaw, your lifestyle and oral hygiene habits ... just to name a few. Determining whether or not dental implants will work for you involves an extremely thorough evaluation – one your dentist may ask us to perform.
If implants are a solution for me, how will the process work?
After determining that you are a good candidate, our doctors will work closely with you and your dentist in developing your customized treatment plan.
We will work with your general dentist to replace just one or two teeth, or, if needed, to replace all of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw with a hybrid-type denture.
Any work you need to have done prior to placement of the implant will be explained thoroughly to you. Then, when the time comes, you’ll undergo the placement procedure (which most people find remarkably easy). When the implant has become secure in your jaw, you’ll work with your dentist to get a new tooth restoration.
Then all you have to do is maintain your excellent oral hygiene habits and smile!
